At AIA, we embody and encourage a culture of giving back to our communities and the profession. Investing in future generations is an ethos that we take seriously and passionately. Our programmes focus mainly on educational sponsorships and partnerships.
On the realization that knowledge and skills are important aspects of growth and development of individuals, AIA runs a University Award Scheme that honours students and their universities -JKUAT, Technical University and the University of Nairobi – for their excellence. We also involve these universities in our studio projects with a view of enabling students learn to apply theoretical knowledge in real life scenarios.
Our fundamental focus on education has led the firm to set up a school fees fund, for the dependents of our security personnel residing in Borana County. Over the years, this programme has grown to include involving the beneficiaries in company excursions with the aim of exposing them to new possibilities and world views.
AIA undertakes concessionary architectural designs for education institutions. These include Emarti Primary School in Maasai Mara in partnership with Air Kenya; Thika School for the Blind in partnership with Standard Chartered Bank; and the SOS Children’s Village expansion projects. We have also undertaken pro-bono architectural services for Starehe Boys Centre.
We have a long standing sponsorship partnerships with the Kenya Paraplegic Society and Kenya Community Centre for Learning.
